Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is the treatment of movement disorders, pain, swelling and discomfort of the body using physical therapy. Podiatry
Podiatrists are health professionals who assess, diagnose and treat feet and foot related problems. The scope of podiatry ranges from the treatment of minor problems to the prescription of and advice regarding orthotics for more complex structural foot problems. As providers of comprehensive foot care, Podiatrist's play an important role in the maintenance of mobility and independence for all members in the community. Massage Therapy
Massage is the oldest healing discipline known to man. It comes under the category of complimentary health and is the practice of influencing muscles tendons, ligaments, skin, joints and other connective tissues including blood and lymphatic vessels. Massage can relieve muscle tension and pain, improve flexibility reduce anxiety and depression, decrease heart rate and blood pressure, prevent scar tissue formation, improve lymphatic and blood flow, release endorphins, and improves sleeping patterns. Myotherapy
Myotherapy is muscle (myo) therapy. Myotherapists assess and treat pain, injury and dysfunction arising from our muscles and the connective tissues surrounding them. Myotherapy aims to restore and maintain the normal integrity of these soft tissues and to increase the flexibility, efficiency and strength of the musculoskeletal system. Myotherapy is available at the Carrum Downs clinic.

Pilates
Pilates is a full-body exercise system that emphasises core stability, body alignment and awareness. With the help of our qualified instructors, clients perform strength, flexibility and range of motion exercises on specially designed equipment. Pilates may be performed by people of any age or fitness level in order to improve flexibility, range of motion and core strength. We offer both group classes for the experienced Pilates enthusiast or one on one classes tailored to your pace and needs. All of our classes are run by qualified Physiotherapists.
Pilates classes are available at all of our clinics and attract private health rebates.

Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is the union of aquatic exercises and physiotherapy. It is a therapeutic approach that uses aquatic exercises designed to aid in the rehabilitation of various conditions. The warmth (approximately 34 degrees) and buoyancy of the water promote muscle and joint relaxation thereby allowing participants to perform exercise much more comfortably. Hydrotherapy can be very useful in isolation or as part of physiotherapy management for a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. All of our Hydrotherapy classes are conducted by qualified Physiotherapists.

Strength Training
Our Strength Training classes are designed specifically for people over the age of 50. This program is based on proven research and can improve your strength, mobility and balance, maintain and improve bone density, and help you to better manage diabetes and arthritic joints. Strength Training classes are available at the Camberwell, Glen Waverley and Bayswater clinics and are run by qualified Physiotherapists.

Dietetics
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APD's) are recognised professionals with the qualifications and skills to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice.
APD's are qualified to advise individuals and groups on nutrition related matters. They also have clinical training to modify diets to treat conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancers, gastro-intestinal diseases, food allergies and intolerances and obesity.
APD's have sound university qualifications accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), undertake ongoing training and education and comply with the Associations guidelines for best practice. APD's can:
- Assess people's nutritional needs
- Develop personalised eating plans and nutritional guidelines
- Provide information regarding:
- Healthy Eating.
- Reading food labels.
- Choosing the best foods when shopping and eating out.
- Healthy ways to prepare food. - Sort out nutrition fact from fiction.
